What does Honda Plus roadside assistance include?

Honda Plus roadside assistance is part of the Honda Plus Extended Warranty from Honda Canada Inc. Roadside assistance, 24/7, is extended at no extra cost. That is how a Honda roadside assistance extended warranty works: it covers the registered vehicle whoever is driving and offers ten services.

A new Honda already includes roadside assistance (3 years, no distance limit). When you buy the Honda Plus extended warranty, Honda extends that help for the plan term you choose. Honda also offers roadside assistance on its own for any Canadian Honda, whatever its age.

Trip interruption: up to $500 per incident if a breakdown happens more than 100 km from home. See the trip interruption details.

What are the ten Honda Plus roadside services?

Honda Plus extends ten roadside services, from towing and lock-out to trip interruption benefits.

Each service has its own limits, set out in Honda’s roadside terms and in your contract. Check the limit that applies before you rely on a specific amount.

  • Emergency Roadside Service
  • Traffic Accident Services
  • Lockout Service
  • Emergency Message Service
  • Winching Service
  • Dealer Location Service
  • Towing Service
  • Emergency Transportation
  • Trip Planning Service
  • Trip Interruption Benefits

What is the Honda roadside assistance number?

The Honda roadside assistance number is 1-800-465-PLUS (7587). It is a toll-free line you can call at any hour. It is Honda’s roadside line, not our sales number, so use it for roadside help, not to buy a plan. Save it in your phone before you need it.

How long does roadside assistance last?

Roadside assistance depends on time only, with no km limit. It is counted from the date the application is signed, not from delivery.

What is Honda trip interruption coverage?

Far from home, a breakdown can cost a night in a hotel and a way to get back on the road. Honda Plus pays for emergency lodging and meals, plus a rental car or commercial transport (taxi, bus or train) to your destination and back to the repair site. It is one total, less any car-rental reimbursement you receive.

  • Trip interruption, maximum per incident

    $500 CAD

  • Applies when a breakdown is more than

    100 km from home

Honda trip interruption coverage pays one total for each incident, not a daily amount.

Separately, if a covered repair takes more than 5 hours in total, you may be entitled to a rental car under most conditions. The daily amount and number of days are not stated here, so ask us to confirm them.

For repairs to the vehicle itself, see what Honda Plus covers.

What about electric vehicles?

Electric vehicles have one extra roadside rule. If an electric vehicle’s battery is fully discharged, roadside assistance tows it to the nearest public charger, dealership or home charger. Limits are set in Honda’s roadside terms.

See how Honda Plus works on hybrids and electric vehicles.

What should I do after a breakdown?

After a breakdown, follow the three steps below: get to safety, protect the vehicle, then call Honda’s roadside line if it cannot be moved.

  1. Get to safety

Move to a safe spot if you can and switch on your hazard lights. In immediate danger, call 911.

  2. Protect the vehicle

If a warning, oil or temperature light comes on, stop using it.

  3. Call roadside, then go to your dealer

If it cannot be moved, call Honda’s roadside line, 1-800-465-PLUS (7587). For a covered repair, have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice.

Maintain your vehicle as Honda recommends in the owner’s manual to keep the plan in effect. How claims, transfers and cancellation work.
