Does Honda Plus cover hybrids and electric vehicles?
Yes, for the models Honda lists: Civic and Prelude hybrids, Accord and CR‑V hybrids, and the Prologue (electric). Your deductible is $0 on a covered component breakdown, and roadside assistance is included. The exception is an electric vehicle’s high-voltage battery: Honda’s 8 years / 160,000 km factory warranty covers it, and Honda Plus excludes it.
If you are looking for a Honda hybrid extended warranty, the short version is that Honda Plus is offered on the hybrid and electric models on Honda’s price list, which sets them out in three separate groups.
This site is about the Honda Plus Extended Warranty for Canadian-market Honda cars, SUVs, minivans and trucks. Prices are in Canadian dollars and distances in kilometres. It is not a U.S. program.
Repairs work as for any covered repair. For a covered repair, have the vehicle taken to the Honda dealer of your choice. Honda says repairs use genuine Honda parts and Honda-trained technicians. That holds for a hybrid or an electric vehicle, as for any covered repair under the plan. Honoured at the Honda dealer of your choice across Canada.
This guide comes from Magog Honda, an authorized Honda dealer that is part of Groupe Olivier. An advisor from Magog Honda confirms the details for your model by phone. New to the program? Start with what the Honda Plus extended warranty is.
- Civic and Prelude hybrids
- All nine plans.
- Accord and CR-V hybrids
- All nine plans. This is the group for a Honda CR-V Hybrid extended warranty; the gas CR-V is listed separately.
- Prologue (electric)
- Six of the nine plans. This is the group for a Honda Prologue extended warranty.
Which plans are offered on which models?
The hybrids are offered on all nine of Honda’s comprehensive plans. The Prologue is offered on six. The Prologue is not offered on the 7-year / 200,000 km, 8-year / 200,000 km and 10-year / 160,000 km plans.

Honda also lists two flexible-term plans whose first period is 4 years / 100,000 km or 5 years / 120,000 km. Both are offered on all three groups. Plan terms include the factory warranty, so “8 years” means 8 years of total coverage counted from delivery, not 8 extra years on top.
For Honda’s prices, see the hybrid and EV price table.
What about the high-voltage battery?
For an electric vehicle, Honda’s factory warranty covers the high-voltage battery for 8 years / 160,000 km, and Honda Plus excludes it. For a hybrid, ask an advisor how the contract treats the hybrid battery.
If you drive a hybrid
For a Civic, Prelude, Accord or CR-V hybrid, Honda lists the hybrid system at 8 years / 160,000 km under the factory warranty. Honda’s basic warranty on most other components runs 3 years / 60,000 km, and that is the part Honda Plus extends, up to 8 years / 200,000 km, whichever comes first. Honda’s public pages do not say how Honda Plus treats hybrid-battery components. An advisor can confirm it from the contract.
For the eight systems Honda names, see what Honda Plus covers. For the factory dates, read Honda’s factory warranty in Canada.
Charging cables and chargers
Charging cables, and chargers at home or anywhere else, are excluded from Honda Plus. If a cable or charger fails, Honda Plus does not pay for it, so ask the maker or seller about its own warranty.
For the port and every other component of an electric vehicle, the Honda Plus Service Provision, given at purchase, is the final word.

Where the vehicle ends and the equipment begins
A vehicle’s own charge port is part of the vehicle. The cable you plug into it and the charger at the other end are separate equipment, and that equipment is what Honda Plus leaves out, along with the high-voltage battery that Honda’s factory warranty covers for 8 years / 160,000 km.
What if an electric vehicle’s battery is fully discharged?
If an electric vehicle’s battery is fully discharged, roadside assistance tows it up to 50 km to the nearest public charger, dealership or home charger. Roadside assistance, 24/7, is extended at no extra cost.
The full list, the clock that applies to roadside and Honda’s own number for existing customers are on the Honda Plus roadside assistance page.

How much coverage is left on my vehicle?
Honda Plus is counted from your vehicle’s original delivery date at 0 km, not from the day you buy the plan. Waiting does not move your coverage forward: an 8-year plan still ends 8 years after delivery, or at its km limit, whichever comes first. Honda also recommends buying when you acquire the vehicle.
Example only, not a quote: on an 8-year / 200,000 km plan, a vehicle that is already 3 years and 60,000 km old has at most 5 years / 140,000 km of Honda Plus coverage left.
